Samsung locks a Galaxy S22 due to failed trade-in procedure in the UK

There is some sad, rather shocking news coming in for the fans who have traded in their old phones to get their hands on the Galaxy S22 series in the UK. Notably, according to a Galaxy S22 Ultra user in the UK, Samsung has sent a notice to the user citing that the device will be blocked within 24 hours.

The notice cites an incomplete trade-in order linked to the device as the reason for this warning message being sent to the Galaxy S22 series owners in the UK. We all know how Samsung is struggling to keep up with the increased demand due to supply shortages across various regions around the globe.

Now, this new Galaxy S22 trade-in controversy only makes the situation worse. The notice, however, asks the user to complete the trade-in procedure within the stipulated time by returning their older device in order to avoid the blockage.

The weird thing is that the user who has shared the notice claims to have already traded in the old device. Furthermore, the user has also provided all the necessary information for the trade-in process, and even Samsung acknowledged this purchase to be “fine.” So, there could be two reasons why this issue is brewing.

First, it could be a technical issue, and second, it could really be a fault on the consumer’s end. We would advise you to thoroughly complete every step of the trade-in to avoid any issues with your new Galaxy S22 series phone.
