Samsung has become the top smartwatch brand in India

India is a very important market for Samsung. The company has been putting in a lot of effort to ensure that it remains the dominant player in the country. Samsung remains the number one smartphone vendor in India despite relentless competition.

Samsung now occupies a similar position in the country’s smartwatch market. It became the leading smartwatch vendor in India this past quarter. This is based on the latest data provided by the IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Wearable Device Tracker.

Galaxy Watch 4 sees double-digit growth

Samsung accounts for a 65% volume market share in the country’s smartwatch market. It also has a 31% volume market share in the truly wireless earbuds category. These figures represent the market position as of March 2022.

Rather unsurprisingly, this stellar performance in the smartwatch market was led by the Galaxy Watch 4. The smartwatch registered double-digit growth in the country. The Galaxy Buds 2 helped Samsung consolidate its position in the truly wireless earbuds segment.

Samsung ensured wider availability of both devices through both offline and online channels across India to ensure that it took the top spot. The company also offered customers improved payment methods and financing options, enabling more customers to purchase these devices.

Both of these products now provide Samsung with a solid base in the market. The company will be releasing the Galaxy Watch 5 series next month. It’s also going to launch new wireless earbuds. The popularity of these products will ensure that their successors will benefit from wider acceptability among consumers. Samsung just might see its market share in these segments grow further in the second half of this year.
