Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Thom Browne Edition sells out in South Korea

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip appears to be in high demand or in short supply. Whatever the case, they’re out of stock. Samsung restocked the Z Flip in the US today but quickly sold out again. The latest news comes from Korea where the exclusive Thom Browne Edition of the phone has quickly sold out after going on sale today. Of course, Samsung hasn’t revealed exactly how many units it has sold out of.

According to reports, the Thom Browne edition of the Galaxy Z Flip was so popular in Korea that Samsung’s website briefly crashed. Samsung had originally set up several physical launch locations, but it decided to cancel them to prevent people from camping out due to coronavirus concerns.

The Thom Browne designer edition of the Galaxy Z Flip comes in unique packaging and bundles in a few extras. The Z Flip itself has a gray finish with the designer’s stripe down the middle. It comes with two cases including a leather one, along with a pair of Thom Browne Galaxy Buds+ and a Galaxy Watch Active 2 with a Thom Browne designer leather strap. The watch and phone also come with exclusive wallpapers, themes, and sounds.

It retails in the Korea for 2,970,000 won (aprox. $2,464). The US retail price of the special Edition bundle is $2,480. So, if you added up the normal cost of the Galaxy Z Flip ($1,380), the Galaxy Buds+ ($150), and the Galaxy Watch Active 2 ($250), that comes out to a $700 premium over for the designer edition bundle.

For those who placed orders in Korea for the Thom Brown Edition of the Z Flip, Samsung Korea has confirmed it will ship pre-orders in March.
