After the unexpected Galaxy Z Fold commercial which aired two days ahead of Samsung’s big Unpacked event the highly anticipated foldable managed to appear in yet another ad. This time around it’s for a limited edition version of the phone created in collaboration with US fashion brand Thom Browne.
The peculiar ad shows off the exclusive version of Samsung’s second foldable which features a silver frame in contrast to the previously seen black color on the regular Galaxy Z Flip. The back comes with the signature Thom Browne red, white and blue stripe.
As with other limited edition devices, the Thom Browne Galaxy Z Flip will come with an exclusive box complete with a phone case, Galaxy Buds+ and what looks like a Galaxy Watch Active2.
Pricing is still a question mark but given that the regular version of the phone will retail around $1,500, we can expect this one to go for more with some rumors estimating a $2,500 asking price. The ad also states that the device will only be available in certain countries.
In related news, the Galaxy Z Fold was spotted in a new hands-on video which gives us a brief tour around the phone’s UI alongside clarification on some key specs. The phone is utilizing the Snapdragon 855+ chipset alongside 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The main scren comes in at 6.67-inches and of 1080 x 2636 pixel resolution. The crease in the middle of the main display is even more noticeable this time around especially in the beginning of the video when it was facing direct light.
Alongside the two videos, we also got a look at what seems to be the official Galaxy Z Flip cases in grey and black. The covers appear to be made with a two-part construction which snap on the top and bottom of the phone’s back. The hinge is completely exposed so that the phone can open and close without any interruptions. There are cutouts for the cameras, secondary display and the right-hand-side for the buttons.
