Samsung Galaxy S21+ CAD renders show the same camera as the S21 and a flat screen

The trio is complete – we saw CAD-based renders of the S21 and S21 Ultra earlier this week, now 3D schematics of the Samsung Galaxy S21+ have surfaced as well. What they show is that the vanilla and the plus model will continue to share a camera, only the Ultra will get a fancier setup.

This new camera island appears to be part of the metal frame that surrounds the phone. And while the back glass has some bevel to it, the front is flat – just as it is on the base S21. The bezels around the display are said to be of equal size on all four sides.

The Galaxy S21+ will retain the 6.7” diagonal of the current S20+, though the flat panel makes the phone wider – it will measure 161.5 x 75.6 x 7.85 mm, compared to 161.9 x 73.7 x 7.8 mm for this year’s model.

Samsung found a way to squeeze in a bit more battery – the S21+ will have 4,800 mAh capacity (up from 4,500 mAh), but will charge at the same 25W as the current model.

The selfie camera design will be unchanged, a single centered punch hole (no under display camera here). The sides of the phone are largely the same as well, with the card tray on top, USB-C and loudspeaker on bottom and power and volume on the side.

Samsung may unveil the Galaxy S21-series in January instead of in February as it has done in recent years. The reason behind the accelerated schedule is unclear, but it should pull the first sales forward from March to February.
