Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite is here to bring the S Pen to the masses

Samsung wanted to target customers who were thinking about moving to the Galaxy Note series for the first time. So it launched the Galaxy Note 10 in addition to the Galaxy Note 10+ last year. The latter was meant for the Note loyalists while the former was for those who were willing to take a chance on this series.A few months after the launch, it became clear that a new Galaxy Note 10 variant was being developed. It’s called the Galaxy Note 10 Lite and Samsung has officially announced it today. That’s probably one of the reasons why the Galaxy Note 10 Lite feels like a mashup of Samsung flagships launched over the past few years. That’s evident from the fact that it’s powered by Samsung’s Exynos 9810 processor, the same chip found inside the Galaxy Note 9 which was released in 2018.The Galaxy Note 10 Lite features a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Infinity-O display, a hair smaller than the Galaxy Note 10+’s 6.8-inch QHD+ display. While the latter comes with 12GB of RAM, the Galaxy Note 10 Lite will only be available in 6/8GB RAM options. It has 128GB of internal storage with support for external expansion up to 1TB using a microSD card.

Samsung also dug into its warehouse to put together the triple camera for the Galaxy Note 10 Lite. The primary 12-megapixel rear sensor is from the Galaxy Note 8 so it doesn’t have variable aperture while the 12-megapixel telephoto f/2.4 2x optical zoom sensor is from the Galaxy Note 9. It does have the same 16-megapixel f/2.2 super wide-angle camera as the Galaxy Note 10/10+, though. Samsung has equipped the handset with a 32-megapixel f/2.2 front camera.




The S Pen is going to be what most people buy the Galaxy Note 10 Lite for. While its S Pen does have Bluetooth Low-Energy support, it doesn’t have a 6-axis sensor, so you can’t do any of the cool gestures that you can with the Galaxy Note 10/10+’s S Pen. That being said, Samsung has added the Text Export feature which will let users transfer handwritten notes into text for quick sharing.The Galaxy Note 10 Lite comes with Android 10 and One UI 2.0 out of the box. It also has features like Bixby, Samsung Pay, AR Emoji, and facial recognition. There’s a fingerprint sensor embedded in the display as well. The generous 4,500mAh battery is even bigger than the Galaxy Note 10+’s 4,300mAh cell and supports 25W super fast wired charging.Samsung has uniquely positioned the Galaxy Note 10 Lite. It will be interesting to see how customers respond to it. The Galaxy Note 10 Lite will be available later this month in Aura Black, Aura Glow and Aura Red colors. Pricing will be confirmed at a later date.
