Samsung Galaxy A72 4G is getting the Snapdragon 720G chipset, Google Play Console confirms

An extensive leak from mid-February detailed the Samsung Galaxy A72 4G, now the device has appeared on the Google Play Console, which lends legitimacy to the leaked specs. The GPC confirms that the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 720G chipset.

It will be equipped with 6 GB of RAM by default, but we’ve seen an 8 GB version as well. The phone will launch with Android 11 and should receive 3 years of OS updates and 4 years of security patches (just like the A71 4G and A51 4G). Anyway, we’re probably looking at 128 GB and 256 GB storage options.

As for the screen, the GPC reveals that it will have a 1080p+ resolution. Rumors peg the size at 6.7” and we may see a 90 Hz refresh rate. That’s for the 4G version, there will also be a Galaxy A72 5G (likely based on the Snapdragon 750G) that will up the refresh rate to 120 Hz.

Looking back at other leaks, the phone is expected to have a 64 MP primary camera, 12 MP ultra wide, 8 MP telephoto (2x magnification) and 2 MP macro cam, the front camera will have a 32 MP sensor. The phone should have IP67 dust and water resistance, a 5,000 mAh battery and a 25W charger in the box.

According to unconfirmed info the Galaxy A72 and A52 models will be unveiled in India later this month. They will be available in Europe as well where the A72 4G is expected to start at €450.
