Samsung debuts July 2021 security update, starts with the Galaxy S10

As expected, Samsung is once again rolling out the next month’s security patch ahead of schedule. The July 2021 security update has been released for the Galaxy S10 series today, and if Samsung’s recent track record is anything to go by, more Galaxy devices will join the fray later today and over the next few days, all before the competition even realizes what is happening.

Identified by PDA version G973FXXSBFUF3, Samsung’s newest software release has made its way to Czech Republic, where it started reaching Galaxy S10 owners earlier today. Expect the rollout to expand to more regions in the coming days, but don’t expect anything much out of the update itself, as it has nothing but security enhancements to offer.

Expect the July 2021 security update to hit more Galaxy devices soon

If the July 2021 security update still hasn’t hit your Galaxy S10, there are a couple of options for you to consider. You can, of course, wait for the update to reach you naturally. Alternatively, you can try triggering the installation manually by going to Settings » Software update » Download and install. Finally, you can download the full system images containing the new update from our firmware archives, then flash those to your device on your own.

And as for those who decide to go the manual flashing route: don’t let data backup slip your mind, you’ll thank us later.
