Samsung blunder suggests Galaxy M01s launch is imminent

A new gaffe from Samsung indicates the Galaxy M01s launch is drawing near, in addition to adding further credence to previous reports about its specifications. Namely, an official support page for the unannounced device appeared on Samsung India’s website, confirming not just the name of the upcoming Android smartphone, but also some of its technical details. It mentions a Galaxy M01s variant identified by model number SM-M017F/DS, with that identifier alone being evidence of dual-SIM capabilities.Additionally, the support page also mentions 3GB of RAM being part of the package. 32GB of storage space should complete that memory configuration, as SamMobile exclusively reported last week.Galaxy M01s: Long battery life made affordableIt was only a month ago that the Galaxy M01 launched in India alongside the slightly better-specced Galaxy M11. The fact that yet another budget-conscious device is already close to release is hence somewhat surprising as it exhibits shades of a product strategy Samsung abandoned years ago when it decided to cut down on the number of smartphone models it releases on an annual basis. The Galaxy M01s is expected to launch in blue and gray, fueled by a 4,000mAh battery. While it originally wasn’t expected to hit the market so close to the Galaxy M01’s debut, the appearance of its support page suggests Samsung is already in a more advanced development phase than what was originally thought and may be launching it in a matter of weeks instead of months. The Galaxy M01s should be priced in the ballpark of $99, i.e. Rs. 7,500, once it’s officially released in India.
