Samsung and ESPN team up for live 4K sports telecasts
Samsung and ESPN have teamed up to upgrade the football-viewing experience on the former’s QLED TVs in the US. Starting October 12, ESPN will live telecast select regular-season college football games in native 4K resolution as part of the “Samsung QLED 4K Game of the Week” campaign, for which the Korean company is serving as a production collaborator and presenting sponsor.The first such telecast will be the match between No. 7 University of Florida and No. 5 Louisiana State University at 8 p.m. ET tomorrow on ESPN and DIRECTV. This telecast is the first in a package of six college football games this season that will be delivered in 4K. Compatible equipment and eligible channel package are required for the 4K telecasts. Customers can go to Samsung.com/qledsports for game schedules, which will be announced on a weekly basis.
