Saints Row: The Third Remastered launches on Xbox One

The Saints Row series is known for its bizarre plot, over-the-top action, and crazy weapons. It’s a lot like Grand Theft Auto to be honest, except it makes no sense. With that said, the games are amazing and one of the best entries in the franchise, Saints Row: The Third, is getting remastered for Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. Luckily, it’s available right now for $40.

Saints Row: The Third Remastered looks great on Xbox One X because, if you unlock the frame rate from the settings menu, it runs at 60 frames per second (FPS) on the console. There’s the option to unlock it since the frame rate dips to around 45-50 during high-action scenes, but overall, it’s worth it to play it at a higher frame rate. Keep in mind that the resolution is 1440p, but the settings menu also offers you the choice of increasing sharpness so it looks like a 4K image.

From my time with the game, the reflections stood out the most. If you were worried that it would be a barebones upgrade like Mafia II: Definitive Edition, then you can put those worries aside. The lighting has seen a stunning upgrade and the game is better for it. It looks like a modern title that surpasses other open-world games on Xbox One in my opinion.

The press release publisher Deep Silver sent said the following.

A much-requested addition to the Saints Row lineup, we can’t wait to bring that special brand of Saints mayhem to your current generation consoles. Expertly handled by Spearsoft, the remaster has transformed Steelport’s environments, character models, and visual effects, along with injecting enhanced graphics and incorporating a new lighting engine to really make the streets of the beloved city shine. Saints Row: The Third Remastered will include all add-ons, remastered of course, that came with the original release of the game nine years ago, so players will get the full, enhanced, package.
