Saints Row: The Third Remastered hits 60 FPS on Xbox One X

The Saints Row series is known for its bizarre plot, over-the-top action, and crazy weapons. It’s a lot like Grand Theft Auto to be honest, except it makes no sense. With that said, the games are amazing and one of the best entries in the franchise, Saints Row: The Third, is getting remastered for Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4.

We were just given access to the title and can confirm that it targets 60 frames per second (FPS) if you remove the frame rate lock in the display settings. I’d also recommend removing the film grain effect because it clears up the image considerably. VG Tech was also able to verify this and posted a detailed analysis on YouTube.

Keep in mind that the frame rate dips to around 45 FPS when there’s a lot going on. For example, if there are a lot of explosions like when you’re in a tank, you’ll see a noticeable dip. Other than that, we found that it sticks to 60 FPS quite well. This is a welcome surprise because this means that Saints Row: The Third Remastered is a rare open-world game to target 60 FPS on Xbox One X.

The press release we received about the game said the following.

Expertly handled by Spearsoft, the remaster has transformed Steelport’s environments, character models, and visual effects, along with injecting enhanced graphics and incorporating a new lighting engine to really make the streets of the beloved city shine. Saints Row: The Third Remastered will include all add-ons, remastered of course, that came with the original release of the game nine years ago, so players will get the full, enhanced, package.

Will you pick up Saints Row: The Third Remastered? Did the 60 FPS entice you? Let us know.
