Resident Evil Village is selling faster than Resident Evil 7: Biohazard did
Resident Evil Village crosses 5 million copies shipped worldwide, faster than the prior game Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Capcom shared on Thursday. Resident Evil Village launched back on May 7, 2021 to critical success and has continued to steadily sell well since, joining the ranks of the best Xbox horror games currently available.
While Resident Evil Village is currently selling faster than its predecessor, it’ll be a while before it reaches the top. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard recently crossed 10 million copies sold since its launch in 2017. Meanwhile, Capcom’s best-selling game of all time remains Monster Hunter World, which recently reached over 20 million copies sold.
Resident Evil Village is currently available on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PC, PS4 and PS5. The game supports a free current-generation upgrade, so if you buy it on Xbox One or PS4, you’ll get the Xbox Series X|S or PS5 version at no extra cost. Resident Evil Village is a direct sequel to Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, with protagonist Ethan Winters trying to find his kidnapped daughter.
