Resident Evil Re:Verse is releasing later this summer
Players all around the world are excited for Resident Evil Village, the latest in the long-running single-player horror franchise. While Village looks set to terrify gamers everywhere and set the bar for the horror genre, Capcom is once again looking to bring multiplayer gameplay to Resident Evil with Resident Evil Re:Verse. This standalone multiplayer title was supposedly set to launch in tangent with Resident Evil Village (and is even included for free to anyone who purchases Village), but is now confirmed to be releasing Summer 2021.
Reports that Resident Evil Re:Verse first began when Resident Evil ambassadors began receiving vague emails that referenced a Summer 2021 release window for Re:Verse instead of the previous assumed release date of May 7, 2021. Now, the official Resident Evil Re:Verse website has been updated to reflect the release date change. Capcom has now released a comment on the release window, which you can read below.
In Resident Evil Re:Verse, 4 to 6 players would be pitted against each other in a deathmatch-style game. Players would first spawn as famous Resident Evil characters, but upon death would be revived as bioweapon characters in “revenge” style. Now, the multiplayer component of Resident Evil Village isn’t launching alongside the game.
Resident Evil Village is still set to release on May 7, 2021, and even has an upcoming 60-minute demo that players can use to try out the game before it releases. If Resident Evil Village delivers on its promises, it’ll almost certainly become one of the best Xbox games.

Capcom has clarified that, while Resident Evil Re:Verse is indeed launching in Summer 2021, it has not been delayed. The game was never officially confirmed to be launching alongside Resident Evil Village on May 7, 2021.
