A few days ago, Capcom revealed Project Resistance, an asymmetrical multiplayer game where one person takes control of a mastermind while everyone else plays as survivors. The mastermind lays out traps and can even control monsters like the infamous Tyrant. The survivors have to solve puzzles, shoot everything in their path, and work together to overcome certain challenges.
Since Project Resistance is a multiplayer game, many old-school Resident Evil fans were worried that you wouldn’t be able to take the action offline. Luckily, that doesn’t appear to be the case. According to a report by We Got This Covered, producer Masachika Kawata revealed that Project Resistance will, in fact, have a dedicated offline mode. You can read his statement below.
The version we showed at TGS 2019 was an online game mode, but we are fully aware that there many are Resident Evil fans that expect the story in the game. In an effort to satisfy our fans, we will have an offline mode that is focused on the narrative component.
Hopefully, this will satisfy those who were worried about the game. Xbox Insider Program members and Resident Evil Ambassadors will be eligible for a chance to participate in the Project Resistance closed beta on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 soon. The closed beta will run from October 4 to 7.
