Renders of Galaxy S21 cases leak: Kvadrat, leather, rugged and silicone

In the US you can already reserve a Galaxy S21, which will net you $50 to spend on accessories. That should be enough to buy a protective case for your new flagship – speaking of which, here’s an overview of S21 cases.

We’ve already seen the Kvadrat cases, these are woven covers that use yarn made from recycled materials. If you prefer metal instead, there are the Rugged Standing Cover with a built-in kickstand.

Interestingly, the new cases cover up the camera bump while cases for the S20 phones go around them. An odd decision, considering that the bump is what makes the Galaxy S21 design unique.

This also means that if you want to show off that dual-tone paint job, you will have to get a Clear silicone case (one version has a kickstand). There are Leather cases as well, so you have a wide choice of materials.

Samsung will also release its traditional S-View Flip Cover and LED Wallet Cover.

According to Roland Quandt, the Galaxy S21 Ultra will not come bundled with the S Pen, instead the stylus will be sold separately or alongside select cases.

Notice the little lanyard on the silicone and Kvadrat cases – this may be how you’re supposed to attach the S Pen to the phone (as neither the phone nor the case has a Note-style holster for the stylus). That said, the Kvadrat cases for the Galaxy S21 and S21+ also show a lanyard and those two models are not supposed to have S Pen support so this could be unrelated.

Lanyard or not, how is the S Pen supposed to be charged, anyway? Newer models have Bluetooth connectivity and motion gestures and the Galaxy Notes use wireless charging to top up the stylus (though basic stylus functionality works without a battery).

Samsung is expected to officially unveil the S21 series in mid-January. Unofficially, we’ve seen detailed leaks about the S21 Ultra specs as well as the S21 and S21+ features and their prices.
