Redmi Note 9 press renders outed mere hours before the official unveiling

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is expected to announce the Note 9 smartphone in a few hours, on April 30 at a special online event. In the meantime, a set of official-looking press renders of the device has surfaced on Twitter.

The Redmi Note 9 is said to come in two RAM/storage versions: 3GB of RAM with 64GB of storage, and 4GB/128GB, respectively. The model is expected to cost around €200.

It will have a plastic back and frame, with Gorilla Glass 5 protecting the screen. Speaking of, it’s going to be a 6.53″ IPS LCD panel with 1080×2340 resolution. The Redmi Note 9 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, and has a 5,020 mAh battery with 18W wired charging.

On the back there’s a quad camera system, with a 48 MP f/1.79 main shooter with Samsung’s GM1 sensor, an 8 MP f/2.2 ultrawide, a 2 MP f/2.4 macro cam, and a 2 MP depth sensor. The selfie snapper in the screen hole-punch is a 13 MP unit. The Redmi Note 9 will complement the Note 9 Pro (aka Note 9S in some markets) and Note 9 Pro Max in the brand’s increasingly more convoluted product roster.
