Redmi K30 Pro sells out in seconds, at least 25,000 units pushed

The Redmi K30 Pro family arrived earlier this week in two versions – the more impressive Redmi K30 Pro Zoom with a telephoto camera, and a vanilla variant, swapping the zoom lens with a macro shooter. Both variants were announced for pre-order at the March 24 event, and today the first flash sale took place.

According to the official Redmi profile on Weibo, all units were sold out in 30 seconds and Xiaomi gained CNY100 million (about $14 million) in revenue in that minuscule time slot.

While the number sure looks impressive, it is better if we put numbers into perspective. Since the most affordable version is basic Redmi K30 Pro with 6/128 GB memory and costs CNY2,999 ($425), while the most expensive one is 8/256 GB Redmi K30 Pro Zoom for CNY3,999 ($520), simple math tells us Xiaomi sold no less than 25,000 units, but no more than 33,500.

We are not even accounting the 12/512 GB option which is yet to arrive for sale, although it was advertised on JD.com with a price tag of CNY4,499 ($635). The phone is yet to appear outside China, but one leak suggests it might hit India under the Poco brand.
