Two Realme smartphones have started receiving a new software update in India today. We’re talking about the Realme XT and Realme C2, both of which are now getting the December security patches on this occasion.
It’s strange to see Realme being so timely with these, especially for mid-range devices, and fellow BBK stablemate OnePlus lagging behind by a lot. On the other hand, when it comes to big Android updates, the situation is reversed, so we can’t help but wonder – can’t these two Oppo offshoots learn from each other?
Anyway, back to the updates. The XT is getting software version vRMX1921EX_11.A.14. Aside from the new security patch level, this brings with it a fast switch toggle for dark mode in the quick settings, an updated Nightscape algorithm for the front camera, updated font change supporting in Theme Store, and a weird issue with app startup animations when white wallpapers were used has been fixed.
The Realme C2’s update is vRMX1941EX_11.A.21, and this includes the same new fast switch toggle for dark mode in the quick settings. It also brings a feature letting you tap on an empty area in the Recents UI to go back to the launcher. Flash on call feature has been added in Settings, and the issue of the volume bar being blocked by the camera in landscape mode has been fixed.
As usual, these are bound to be staged rollouts, so it might take a few days (or more) for them to reach all the XT and C2 units in the wild in India at the moment. If you’re impatient and know how to manually flash system updates, head to the Source below to grab the direct download links.
