Realme to be the first to ship phone with Samsung’s newest 108MP sensor

Chinese smartphone brand Realme has announced that its new flagship, the Realme 9 (4G), will ship with a 108MP Samsung ISOCELL HM6 image sensor.

This will be the company’s second smartphone to come with a 108MP image sensor. Notably, the Realme 8 Pro was the previous device. However, it came with the Samsung ISOCELL HM2. On the other hand, the Realme 9 will get the brand new Samsung ISOCELL HM6 image sensor, making it the first device to ship with the HM6 image sensor.

In its official press release, Realme has also shared that they will be marketing the new camera under the name “ProLight”. Speaking of the Samsung ISOCELL HM6 sensor, it uses the new NonaPixel Plus layout, having 3×3 pixel binning.

Thanks to the other advanced features of the new image sensor, it will improve the overall light intake ability by 123% when compared to the ISOCELL HM2 sensor.

Realme says that the sensor performs extremely well in low lighting conditions and also produces brighter photos with excellent color reproduction.

The upcoming Realme 9 series will also take advantage of the HM6 sensor’s “ultra-zoom” feature. This would allow Realme 9 users to capture beautiful zoomed-in shots, with high details.

Samsung is yet to officially unveil the new ISOCELL HM6 108MP sensor, but it is now confirmed that the Realme 9 will be the first device to use it.
