Realme 9i renders show triple camera on the back, side-mounted fingerprint reader

Realme is preparing to launch the 9-series early next year and (according to rumors) it will consist of four models, the cheapest of which will be the Realme 9i. Yesterday we saw some leaked specs for the 9i and a first look at the design. Today, @onleaks and 91Mobiles deliver many more renders and some additional details about the phone.

It will have a 6.5” display, most likely an IPS LCD, considering the side-mounted fingerprint reader. Unconfirmed info suggests that it will have 1080p+ resolution and that it will run at a 90 Hz refresh rate.

The phone will allegedly be powered by the Snapdragon 680 that was announced recently, a 6 nm chipset with an LTE modem. That means no 5G on the cheapest 9-series phone. Also, the phone is said to come with Android 11 out of the box (with Realme UI on top, of course).

Anyway, the renders show a 3.5 mm headphone jack on the bottom, alongside the speaker grille and the USB-C port. That port will be used to charge a 5,000 mAh battery, though details on charging speed are yet to be revealed.

There’s a triple camera on the back. It’s not clear what the second and third cameras do, but the primary one supposedly has a 50 MP sensor (probably not a very big one).

The Realme 9i, alongside the Realme 9, 9 Pro and 9 Pro+ (or Pro Max), are expected in the first three months of 2022. Rumors of the 9 Pro/9 Pro+ talk of a Snapdragon 870 and 120 Hz OLED display, which would make them much higher end the members of the Realme 8 series.
