Razer Card announced – a pre-paid Visa card with 1% cashback on all purchases and a light-up logo

Razer is known mostly for its gaming-oriented computers, peripherals and the occasional smartphone, but the company is venturing into a new territory – it just announced the Razer Card, a pre-paid card with cashback deals and gamified features.

Razer partnered with Visa to launch this card, starting with a beta test in Singapore. Only 1337 users can join the test, they will be able to use the basic card or upgrade to the Premium version.

The Razer Premium Card is the fist card that lights up – a Razer logo glows green as you pay. This card also gives you access to gamified rewards that you can access through the Razer Pay app.

This app gives you secure control over the physical card and also works as a virtual card that you can use for online payments.

Users of the Razer Card get 1% cashback on any of their purchases. However, if you’re shopping at the RazerStore or using Razer Gold then it’s 5% cashback. Even better, during the beta testing period that number is 10% instead of 5%. There’s no minimum spend and no cap on how much you can get back.

The beta testers will be given various tasks to complete and they “level up” with each task completed. There are awards of up to SGD 2,000 worth of Razer gear and free card upgrades up for grabs.

If you’re in Singapore and want to join, visit the Razer Card page for details.
