Rainbow Six Siege ‘The Grand Larceny’ gang event now live
Ubisoft has kicked off its latest midseason event for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, with the arrival of “The Grand Larceny,” a limited-time mode centered on early 20th-century gang conflict. The latest spin on the hit tactical shooter spans two weeks, comprised of a custom mode and themed map built upon the original Hereford Base. That also includes one unique twist, featuring fully destructible floors and ceilings, leveraging the full scope of Rainbow Six Siege’s dynamic sandbox.
“The Grand Larceny” arrives as a free, limited-time mode bridging the midseason ahead of Rainbow Six Siege’s upcoming Year 5 Season 2 unveiling. The period setting sees Operators assuming roles of rival gangs, where attackers aim to utilize their toolset to enter the building and secure safes across the map.
The event is playable with only a select portion of the Rainbow Six Siege Operator roster, also mandating the use of shotguns exclusively. It promotes close-quarters combat in a game where rifles are traditionally favored, also making surfaces more fragile than ever.
Ubisoft couples its arrival with the usual cosmetic skins, bundled into the usual randomized cosmetic packs. The collection features new looks on attack and defense, bundled via “Larceny Collection” packs. Obtainable via in-game Renown or premium R6 Credits, items include headgear, uniforms, weapon skins, and charms.
The Grand Larceny is now live on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, available for free to all Rainbow Six Siege players. Currently scheduled to span two weeks, the event concludes on May 19, 2020.
