Rainbow Six Siege next Operators leak alongside Year 5 plans

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege soon locks down its Year 4 Season 4 update, delivering the latest of seasonal expansions for Ubisoft’s hit tactical shooter. The final update of the year promises two new Operators on the roster, alongside a rework of the existing Theme Park map. And with Ubisoft expected to reveal Season 4 on November 10, our first alleged leak has surfaced.

The extensive Year 4 Season 4 tell-all comes via reputable leakster Kormora, previously famed for details on every Operator from 2019. Sources reportedly familiar with Ubisoft plans provide an overview of the future update contents, alongside the first glimpse at Year 5 concepts.

As Ubisoft announced via its Year 4 roadmap in February, Season 4 looks to enlist new Indian and Kenyan talent. The latest leak alludes to an offensive Indian sniper role packing a bolt-action rifle, also capable of destroying gadgets. Her “grenade launcher” would fire projectiles that charge up and destroy defender gadgets, rivaling Thatcher’s handheld EMPs.

The leak describes an accompanying defender, expanding on prior talk of Jäger competition. The Operator’s deployable device reportedly “sucks in” nearby grenades, before triggering a detonation. Although details on the Operator loadout remain scarce, the Kenyan would feature one-speed mobility.

Season 4 may experiment with wider-reaching Operator changes, shaking up existing loadouts. A secondary alarm gadget is supposedly in the works (likely the previously-teased proximity alarm) alongside a “small thermite charge for attackers.” The device appears to grant secondary hard-breaching utility to existing loadouts, providing an alternative beyond the classic Thermite, Hibana, and Maverick trio. Tachanka’s long-awaited rework may lie on the horizon, while Finka transitions into a refined medic role too.

The source finally throws around upcoming Year 5 concepts, promising “interesting” Operator gadgets throughout 2020. Referring to the infamous “commercials with the Kool-Aid man,” a forthcoming Operator may pack capability to burst open destructible walls. Talk of a “medic drone operator” and “akimbo dude” are also pitched, as Ubisoft attempts to lock in plans for the coming year. However, ongoing engine struggles appear to bottleneck Operator ideas.

Lots of stuff got shelved over the years over engine issues and impracticability, for example we had a shield with a stun in mind that would throw back people but with the way shields are we felt it was wise to not pursue it atm. Flamethrowers, light beams, and other wilder ideas are held back by the engine for now…

As with any third-party leak, take all contents lightly until an official reveal from Ubisoft. However, a proven track record goes a long way, providing unmatched authenticity ahead of teasers.

Year 4 Season 4 is expected for a November 10 unveiling, alongside the Rainbow Six Pro League Finals in Tokoname, Japan, indicative of an early December 2019 release date.
