Project xCloud Xbox game streaming preview now live (update)
Updated October 23, 2019: Windows Central just received confirmation from Microsoft that Project xCloud is live.
Project xCloud is Microsoft’s game streaming service to compete with Google Stadia and, to a lesser degree, PlayStation Now. It allows you to play AAA games like Gears 5 on your phone or tablet without the need to purchase an Xbox One.
It’s unclear what the pricing will be, but if you signed up to take part in the October public trials, you’re in luck. Xbox’s Phil Spencer just announced that the public preview is live. Invitations are going out right now. Other users on Reddit are also saying that they can play games on Project xCloud now.
Proud of the #ProjectxCloud team for launching the public preview – it’s an exciting time at Xbox. Invitations are rolling out now and will continue over the coming weeks. We’re excited for all of you to help shape the future of game streaming.

Hopefully, the input lag will be as low as the team has been advertising. Early tests showed that Project xCloud was much better than Stadia when it came to responsive controls. However, these tests should provide an even better picture.
