PNY unveils XLR8 Gaming versions of new RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti GPUs
PNY, one of the leading manufacturers when it comes to third-party GPUs, has unveiled its own NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and GeForce RTX 3070 Ti cards following NVIDIA’s Computex 2021 announcement. These new GPUs expand PNY’s XLR8 Gaming lineup of hardware, some of which we have included in our collection of the best graphics cards. Like the reference cards, the PNY RTX 3080 Ti will feature 12GB of GDDR6X VRAM and 10,240 CUDA cores. The RTX 3070 Ti will also benefit from a bump up to 8GB of GDDR6X VRAM, a move away from standard GDDR6 memory.
PNY makes some great-looking GPUs, and it seems the XLR8 Gaming GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti will be no different with both Revel and Uprising models available. Both cards will feature a three-fan setup, each with twin ball-bearing hubs and integrated Epic-X RGB lighting customizable through PNY’s VelocityX software. Here you’ll also be able to fine-tune clock speeds and fan speeds to get the absolute most out of your GPU.
The RTX 3080 Ti will feature a metal backplate on both Revel and Uprising versions, while the RTX 3070 Ti has a “durable” back plate on both versions. All cards feature HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4a ports, as well as PCIe 4.0 support. Instead of the 12-pin connector found on NVIDIA’s reference cards, it appears PNY’s GPUs will go with the more popular dual 8-pin connector setup.
PNY’s XLR8 Gaming Revel and Uprising RTX 3080 Ti and 3070 Ti GPUs are expected to go on sale “early June” at Best Buy and Amazon. This will likely line up with the June 3 and June 10 release dates set by NVIDIA. There’s still no definitive word on pricing, though NVIDIA has these cards slated to list at about $1,199 for the 3080 Ti and $599 for the 3070 Ti.
