Phoenix Point: Behemoth Edition is heading to Xbox later this year

From the creators of XCOM was another fantastic turn-based strategy game with Phoenix Point, which is currently available on several PC platforms (and through Xbox Game Pass for PC), but has so far been absent on console platforms. Today, Snapshot Games and Prime Matter have confirmed this is set to change with the announcement of Phoenix Point: Behemoth Edition, which arrives on Xbox and PlayStation later this year on Oct. 1, 2021. Phoenix Point: Behemoth Edition is the same strategy game everyone knows and loves, but carefully ported to Xbox and PlayStation consoles. This means players will take command of a last-ditch effort to save the remaining dredges of humanity from an aggressive alien threat, but with a number of Behemoth Edition-specific features, including:

  • Updated UI and controller support for consoles
  • Countless quality-of-life improvements and community-led updates from Phoenix Point on PC
  • A free current-gen update for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PS5 after launch
  • Every Phoenix Point DLC to date, including “Blood and Titanium,” “Legacy of the Ancients,” “Festering Skies,” DLC weapon packs, and more
  • The upcoming “Corrupted Horizons” DLC, which launches on PC on the same day

We don’t have all the information for Phoenix Point: Behemoth Edition yet, other than the platforms it’s heading to and the release date. We don’t know how much the collection will cost, preorder information, or if Phoenix Point: Behemoth Edition will be available through Xbox Game Pass on consoles like its PC counterpart. We’ll have to wait a while longer to hear more about this exciting addition to the best Xbox strategy games.
