Overwatch’s next hero Echo has officially been announced

Based on the video, it appears that Echo is an artifical intelligence construct that was created from the mind of Dr. Mina Liao, one of the six founding members of the Overwatch organization and one of the people who helped create the omnics. It will be interesting to see how this character fits into the larger Overwatch story, as well as how she will impact the game itself when she goes live in the game. As of now, it’s expected that Echo will be playable on March 23 based on a recent hint by Blizzard.
