Oppo K9s will have a 120Hz display, 64MP camera

The Oppo K9s will be unveiled tomorrow, October 20, a follow-up to the original K9 and an alternative to the K9 Pro from last month. While the full reveal is tomorrow, the company has been dropping details about the spec sheet. Here’s what we have so far.

The K9s will be powered by a 5,000 mAh battery – that’s larger than both the original K9 (4,300 mAh) and the K9 Pro (4,500 mAh). However, its 30W fast charging won’t be quite as fast as on the previous models (65/60W).

Some things don’t change, though, like the 64 MP main camera on the back. The phone will have a 120 Hz display – a 6.59” LCD, according to unofficial info (the K9 has a 90 Hz AMOLED, the Pro a 120Hz AMOLED). The display will offer several refresh rate speeds to match the content: 120 Hz, 90 Hz, 60 Hz, 50 Hz, 48 Hz and 30 Hz. A clue to this being an LCD panel instead of AMOLED like on the Pro model is that the fingerprint reader moved out from under the display and went on the side.

The K9s should be powered by the Snapdragon 778G, replacing the 768G of the original K9 and as an alternative to the Dimensity 1200 on the K9 Pro. You can see a representation of the cooling system in one of the teasers.

The design of the Oppo K9s is follows that of the K9 Pro with a decorative element stretching out from the camera. You can see the three colorways in the image below:
