Oppo F21 Pro series is coming on April 12

Oppo launched the F19 lineup last March, and the company will follow it up with the F21 Pro series next month – on April 12.

This announcement comes from Oppo’s Indian branch, which said that the F21 Pro series will be introduced in India on April 12 at 5PM local time. The lineup includes the F21 Pro 4G and F21 Pro 5G, but it’s unclear if these will be joined by a Pro+ model since there’s no mention of it yet.

The press note sent by Oppo revealed that the F21 Pro 4G and 5G will come in Sunset Orange and Rainbow Spectrum colors, respectively. But there will also be a Cosmic Black shade common for both.

Oppo says that the Rainbow Spectrum version of the 5G variant uses a three-layer texture and a two-layer coating manufacturing process to achieve the dazzling rainbow appearance, while the 4G variant’s Sunset Orange version flaunts a Fiberglass-Leather design on its back that “doubles as a frameless battery cover to make the phone thin, light and durable.”

Oppo tells us that it used the lychee-grain leather for the base material on Sunset Orange because it is waterproof, wear-resistant, and has a plush feel.

While Oppo doesn’t explicitly mention if the F21 Pro 5G will also have a leather design version, a promo page set up on Amazon.in reveals that this design will be exclusive to the F21 Pro 4G.

Oppo hasn’t divulged the specs of either of these phones yet, but the images of the F21 Pro 4G shared by the company reveal the smartphone’s triple camera system on the back will be headlined by a 64MP unit. One of these cameras will also have Orbit Light around them to alert users of incoming calls, new notifications, and more.

These pictures suggest that the F21 Pro 4G could be a rebranded Reno7 4G announced yesterday. And if that’s true, it will come with the Snapdragon 680 SoC, 6.43″ 90Hz FullHD+ AMOLED screen, Android 11-based ColorOS 12.1, in-display fingerprint reader, and a 4,500 mAh battery with 33W charging.

There will be a 32MP selfie shooter on the front, with the 64MP primary camera on the rear joined by 2MP microscope and 2MP depth units.
