One UI 2 beta for S10 series locking users out of their phones

While Samsung has already pushed two versions of its One UI 2 beta to S10 owners, it seems there is a critical flaw that refuses users’ PIN, password or pattern after restarting their device. It’s not confirmed whether Note10 users are experiencing the same issue yet.

For now, the only workaround to the bug is to set up the remote unlock feature before restarting the device and then use the Find My Mobile app to delete all biometrics and screen lock data. The only issue is that you still won’t be able to enroll new screen lock or biometrics so the device will remain without any form of secure unlock.

There’s also the hard reset option that wipes all the phone’s data but some users are reporting that even after that, they still cannot set a new pin or any other form of biometric authentication.

If you are currently running the One UI 2 beta it’s best that you do not restart your device until Samsung issues an update. We will keep you posted with more details on the issue.
