NVIDIA sets revenue records for Q422 and the entire 2022 fiscal year

NVIDIA saw a record-breaking quarter in Q422 of the fiscal year, which ended on January 30, 2022. The company also reported record revenue for the entirety of the most recent fiscal year. NVIDIA brought in $7.64 billion of revenue in Q422, which was an increase of 53% year-over-year. The tech giant’s $26.91 billion of revenue in the 2022 fiscal year was up 61% compared to the previous year.

“We are seeing exceptional demand for NVIDIA computing platforms,” said NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang. “NVIDIA is propelling advances in AI, digital biology, climate sciences, gaming, creative design, autonomous vehicles and robotics – some of today’s most impactful fields.

Below are NVIDIA’s GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) figures for Q422 and the 2022 fiscal year:

NVIDIA’s gaming, data center, and professional visualization markets all brought in record revenue in the final quarter of the 2022 fiscal year. In Q422, the company brought in $3.42 billion through gaming, $3.26 billion through its data centers, and $643 million through professional visualization. Those figures were likely bolstered by NVIDIA launching some of the best graphics cards during the reporting period.

NVIDIA’s automotive segment saw a 14% decrease in revenue to $125 million in Q422.

The figures from Q422 do not reflect NVIDIA’s failed acquisition of Arm. Despite the deal not being able to close, SoftBank will keep well over $1 billion from NVIDIA. In relation to the failed acquisition, NVIDIA will record a $1.36 billion write-off in the first quarter of the 2023 fiscal year.
