New UAG cases add rugged protection to the Surface Go 2 and Surface Book 3

Microsoft Surface Go 2 and Surface Book 3 owners have some new options to protect their new hardware. UAG recently announced several new cases for Microsoft’s newest Surface devices. Surface Go 2 owners can choose between the Outback, Metropolis, Plasma, Plyo, and Scout cases and Surface Book 3 owners can pick up a Plasma case. The new cases start at $45 and go up to $90 depending on the style you choose.

The Plasma Series features translucent back panels that let you show off the metal finish of your Surface device. The Surface Book Plasma case adds protection around both the detachable screen and the keyboard base. It also adds a bit of lift to the back of the device when sitting on a desk or table, improving the typing angle of the Surface Book. The Plasma case works with the Surface Book, Surface Book 2, and Surface Book 3.

The Surface Go 2 Plasma case covers the device’s built-in kickstand but adds its own so you can still use the device at different angles. It works with the Surface Go 2 Type Cover and still allows you to access the device’s ports. The Surface Go 2 Plasma case includes a shoulder strap and hand strap.

The Plyo Series case for the Surface Go 2 also has a translucent back, but it doesn’t have the hand and shoulder straps of the Plasma Series. As a result, it appears clean and minimalist. It also has its own kickstand and allows access to the Surface Go 2’s ports.

The Outback and Metropolis cases feature grippier exteriors. The Outback has a hand strap while the Metropolis features a kickstand.

The Scout Series case is the most minimal in the new lineup. UAG states that it’s built with “feather-light construction” but that it has an impact resistant core.
