New OxygenOS update finally reaches the OnePlus 7T with January security patch
A few days ago OnePlus started sending out a new update for three of its 2019 smartphones, the OnePlus 7, 7 Pro, and 7T Pro. Notably absent from the list was the 7T, which for some reason saw a delayed rollout of what is basically the same update.
Now though it is finally going out to OnePlus 7T units in the wild, arriving as OxygenOS 10.0.8 globally and OxygenOS 10.3.1 in India. Once you install this, you’ll have the January 2020 security patch level, which is soon to be two months behind, but that’s par for the course for OnePlus.
The changelog mentions RAM management improvements, a new feature to support reminders for privacy alerts, as well as the usual general bug fixes and improved system stability all-round. Additionally, the black/blank screen issues seen in some apps should be gone.
There are some India-specific tweaks too, such as integrated VoWiFi registration for Jio customers, and added sync support for Notes and Contacts for the Cloud Service. The Work-Life Balance feature also gets optimized message notifications and mode and app selection, as well as added location, calendar, and auto-track functionality.
As usual, the update is going out in stages, with only a limited number of devices receiving it today. A wider spread will commence in a few days if no show-stopping bugs are found in the meantime.
