New Android features let you get the most out of your Galaxy phone

Our Samsung Galaxy phones are an integral part of our lives. So it’s always good to get new features that help us get the most out of them. With the holiday season upon us, Google has now come out with some new Android features to make its mobile OS more helpful.

The holiday season is the busiest time of the year. As you’d expect, a lot of people rely on their mobile devices to stay in touch with their loved ones and keep track of their precious moments.

Google releases new Android features for the holidays

Take the Family Bell feature, for example, It lets you set custom bells that announce upcoming activities to the entire family. So if you want everyone to be there when the Christmas tree lights up, just schedule a Family Bell.

Google has also added three new widgets. The new Google Play Books widget makes it easier to keep track of holiday reasons. The new YouTube Music widget puts recently played tracks and playback controls on the home screen. Lastly, the new Google Photos People & Pets widget puts your closest people and your pets on the home screen.

New Memories in Google Photos are also being rolled out this week to celebrate highlights from the past. These Moments will be displayed in the photo grid and feature curated collections from holidays like Christmas and New Year’s Eve to milestones like birthdays. Memories can be personalized and renamed directly from the grid.

Google has made some changes to Android Auto as well since a lot of people will be driving home for the holidays. Android Auto will now launch automatically when the device is connected to a compatible car.

It will stay connected on every drive. Android Auto will soon get the smart reply option as well so that it’s easier for users to reply to text messages through Google Assistant. It will soon also be possible to use voice search for music in media apps on Android Auto.
