Need for Speed Heat launches on Xbox One

A few months ago, EA accidentally leaked Need for Speed Heat for Xbox One and other platforms. The game just launched, starting at $60, and the company recently released a launch trailer that highlights the gameplay. It’s unclear if it offers a 60 frames per second option this time around like Forza Horizon 4.

The standard edition comes in at $60, but EA Access members can get it for less. There’s also a Deluxe Edition with a lot of outfits that will probably be sold through cosmetic microtransactions. Since we haven’t played the game yet, we’ll have to get back to you on that.

Luckily, the egregious “Speed Cards” from Need for Speed Payback have been removed. Again, it’s unclear if this means that the game will feature no microtransactions, or if they’ll be limited to cosmetic items. Only time will tell, but we should know very soon. Lastly, Xbox One X owners will be happy to know that it runs at 4K resolution on the system.
