Motorola’s next high-end phone to use 200MP, 50MP ISOCELL sensors

Three years ago, Samsung restarted the camera megapixels race in the smartphone market with its first 48MP and 64MP sensors. Since then, the company has also launched 50MP, 108MP, and 200MP camera sensors. The world’s first 200MP ISOCELL camera will be used in a Motorola smartphone before being adopted for the Galaxy S23.

According to a new report from China, an upcoming flagship smartphone from Lenovo-owned Motorola will be the first to use Samsung’s 200MP ISOCELL HP1 camera sensor. In fact, it will also use the 50MP ISOCELL JN1 sensor for the secondary camera. The phone is codenamed ‘Frontier’ and is a higher-end version of the recently announced Motorola Edge X30.

The upcoming phone features a 200MP ISOCELL HP1 primary camera, a 50MP ISOCELL JN1 ultrawide camera, and a 12MP Sony IMX663 telephoto camera on the rear. At the front, the Frontier could feature a whopping 60MP Omnivision OV60A sensor. That’s one of the most impressive camera setups we’ve come across.

The Motorola Frontier also uses other high-end features, including a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O display with a 144Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, 8GB/12GB RAM, 128GB/256GB internal storage, in-display fingerprint reader, stereo speakers, 125W fast wired charging, and up to 50MP fast wireless charging.
