More Honor V40 specs surface, a 3D ToF camera to be on the front

The Honor V40 is going to be the company’s debut as an independent entity and the phone shapes up to be a feature-packed beast. The latest report from the so-called “Digital Chat Station” (Google translated) on Weibo gives us a little bit more insight into the front-facing camera and the battery.

He says that the dual punch-hole that we saw in the official poster houses a standard 16MP selfie camera alongside a 3D ToF sensor, which also means that the V40 will feature an advanced face unlocking. A 4,000 mAh battery will be powering up the handset but only the higher spec-ed memory variant will support 50W wireless charging, confirming a recent leak. Wide 100% P3 color gamut, stereo loudspeakers and a set of two linear vibration motors will also be on board.

Given the provided information, it’s probably safe to assume that Honor won’t be doing the traditional feature segregation by launching more than one flagship device, but will instead unveil a single V40 phone with the only difference being the wireless charging capability on configurations with higher storage and RAM.
