Minecraft: Java Edition gets another Pre-Release for ‘the Nether Update’

It seems I’m running out of ways to say Mojang Studios has released a new beta build for the Nether Update in Minecraft, so it’s good that we’re in the final stretch of development for this gargantuan release for the creative sandbox. Pre-Release 6 is now out for Minecraft: Java Edition, and it includes another long list of bug fixes and resolved issues, so Mojang Studios is clearly devoted to delivering a first rate gaming experience with the full launch later this summer.

With this Pre-Release build, we also get some tweaks to how crimsons and warped colors are displayed on the map, the search bar in the recipe book has been tweaked with new text to better highlight its purpose, and the mode selector now has a default selection to aid in switching game modes quicker. Beyond that, it’s just a lot of little improvements, like a fix for the enchantment glint on shields being rendered incorrectly.

If you want to check out the full changelog, we actually found it in the Minecraft Launcher on Windows 10! Mojang Studios hasn’t made the changelog available on their website yet, but we’ll make sure to link it here when it’s available. In the meantime, you can check out how to play the new build here.
