Minecraft is testing more ‘Caves and Cliffs Update’ features in latest beta

Minecraft, which continues to be one of our top picks in the Best Xbox Games for Kids, is back again with another beta, which shouldn’t surprise anyone. This time around it’s Beta 1.16.210.53, which continues Minecraft’s recent trend of testing a handful of features from the upcoming Caves and Cliffs Update by using an “experimental features” toggle inside the already-released Nether Update. Today’s beta has the usual bug fixes and technical changes, but also includes a bunch of tweaks to powder snow, which was added in the beta a while back.

The Caves and Cliffs Update, which is scheduled for release sometime in Summer 2021, hasn’t begun proper testing in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition yet, and at this point probably won’t until the new year. However, players can still jump into the beta (by following our guide on joining the Minecraft: Bedrock Edition betas) and take a look at goats and powder snow.
