Minecraft Earth Early Access kicks off with cute safety PSA

Minecraft Earth Early Access has started its global rollout, recently onboarding citizens of Iceland and New Zealand, accompanying its existing five beta regions. The upcoming augmented reality (AR) spin on the adventure bestseller brings resource collection and construction to the real world through mobile phones. Headed to both iOS and Android over the coming months, it sets out to rival the successes of Pokemon GO.

Taking Minecraft Earth to the real world brings countless new challenges, both from technicalities of its global scale and gameplay alterations. And given popularity both among young and old, Minecraft Earth is also designed to account for safety and privacy. Marking its early access release, Mojang has debuted a cute new PSA, diving into outside dangers, with villager aid.

Minecraft Earth kicked off its closed invite-only beta this summer, welcoming a limited player base ahead launch. While now publicly available in Iceland and New Zealand, players in Seattle, London, Tokyo, Stockholm, and Mexico City still require beta invitations. However, with worldwide availability set for later this year, keep an eye out for weeks to come.
