Over the past few years, Microsoft has added many highly-requested features to Minecraft. However, customizing your character — instead of simply buying skins — was only available to PC users beforehand. Luckily, that’s about to change very soon. According to a report by TrueAchievements, the game just got a character creator in the latest beta build.
The outlet added that not only can you change your clothes, but you can also modify your “body size and shape, hairstyles and colors, facial hair, and skin tones.” While a lot of the customization options are free, more will be purchasable through the Minecraft Marketplace it seems like. You can watch the 90-minute livestream to learn more about the character creator.
TrueAchievements noted that the beta is only available on Xbox One, Windows 10, and Android at the moment. It’s unclear if it’ll expand to other platforms before it launches for everyone. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we know more. Are you excited for the character creator? Let us know.
Recently, Minecraft studio head Helen Chiang revealed that Minecraft is now played by over 112 million gamers each month. This is a truly staggering figure and the game remains this popular due to its sandbox nature and aggressive post-launch support.
