Microsoft’s massive 85-inch Surface Hub 2S is coming in January 2021

Microsoft’s larger Surface Hub 2S offering is now up for pre-sale, and will begin shipping to commercial customers in January 2021. The 85-inch Surface Hub 2S runs the same software as the standard Surface Hub 2S, that being Windows 10 Team, and Microsoft touts this offering as an all-in-one teamwork digital whiteboard. It’ll cost $21,999.99.

At more than 85″ we have brought customersa larger screen in a smaller chassis than the previous version, with bezels that are 45% smaller, a display that is 20% thinner, and overall30% lighter in weightthan its predecessor. The fit and finish of theproduct is remarkable, delivering a level of quality that cannot be found elsewhere.

The Surface Hub 2S 85-inch features a 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio, which is notable because the standard Surface Hub 2S uses a 3:2 aspect ratio. In addition to the new hardware, Microsoft is also releasing the Windows 10 Team 2020 Update to Surface Hub 2S and Surface Hub 1 devices in October, which includes improved IT integration, device deployment and management capabilities, as well as meeting and collaboration experiences across all Surface Hub generations.

If Windows 10 Team is not something that fits into your work flow, customers can now configure Surface Hub 2S with Windows 10 Pro or Windows 10 Enterprise. This will deliver the full Windows 10 desktop PC experience on the Surface Hub 2, with the usual Start menu and windowed apps. Microsoft says that this toolset enables customers to maximize their productivity with apps not traditionally available on Surface Hub.
