Microsoft Viva has achieved a lot in one year

Microsoft Viva was announced by Microsoft on January 4, 2021, and celebrates its first birthday on January 4, 2022. To mark the occasion, Viva’s creator has released stats about its employee experience platform (EXP) to showcase how it’s doing.

The platform, which is built to help facilitate employee wellness and retainment in the hybrid era, has had major accomplishments during its first year in the Microsoft ecosystem. To date, over 10 million active monthly users utilize it. Not to mention, Viva’s secured some big-name paying customers such as PayPal, Unilever, Blum, and Nationwide.

Beyond helping with employee wellness, Viva is specifically targeted at combating disconnectedness, burnout, and other areas of concern modern workforces have to deal with. It can be found via its integration in Microsoft Teams as well as other MS365 apps.

Since our initial announcement a year ago, Viva Connections, Viva Insights, Viva Topics, and Viva Learning are all generally available. Later this year, Viva customers will also benefit from a new Viva-based objective and key results (OKRs) service powered by our acquisition of Ally.io.

We covered the Ally.io acquisition back in late 2021 when Microsoft first made the move. It’s one of many, many acquisitions the company has partook in in recent memory, though it’s not among the most expensive of them all.
