Microsoft Teams is going to let you restart live events soon

Ever encounter a technical hiccup that results in a live event in Microsoft Teams meeting its premature demise? Of course you have; it’s an all-too-common occurrence in the remote world we live in these days. Thankfully, Teams is getting a feature that’ll prevent unexpected issues from spelling the end for live events.
As spotted by OnMSFT, Microsoft has added a Teams “restart live event” feature to its 365 roadmap. Here’s the feature’s description: “Previously when a producer or presenter ran a live event, they were not able to restart it even if you accidentally ended it or if the event ran into an error. With this new feature, you will be able to restart your live event after you have ended it or if you have encountered a problem during it.”
It’s a feature seemingly custom-built to tackle technical-malfunction-induced headaches that so many people have had to deal with in remote work environments for ages now. Instead of having to schedule entirely new live events to get everyone back on the same page, now you’ll be able to hit restart and resume as though nothing had happened in the first place.
The feature is listed as being in development, with an expected July 2021 release date.
