Microsoft rolls out the first beta of Windows 11

There will be no new Dev Channel build of Windows 11 this week, but there is something better – the first Beta build is now live. Microsoft recommends that those who were curious enough to install the early Dev builds, but would prefer something more stable, switch over to the Beta channel.

Normally this would require a full reinstall, but for a limited time you will be able to switch from the Dev to the Beta channel. Go to Windows Update > Windows Insider Program to make the switch.

If you aren’t running the Dev build, but want to try out the Beta, you still need to enroll in the Windows Insiders program. Naturally, your computer must meet the system requirements and many relatively new CPUs do not.
