Microsoft reveals Xbox Series X and Series S pricing for India

We now know how much the Xbox Series X and Series S will cost in the U.S., and Microsoft has also released pricing information for India. The Xbox Series X will debut at ₹49,990 ($680) in India, with the Xbox Series S launching for ₹34,990 ($475).

The pricing details come by way of the Xbox India Facebook page, with Microsoft stating to The Mako Reactor that the information is legitimate. The Xbox Series X costs just over ₹13,300 ($180) than its equivalent in the U.S., and the same is true for the Series S as well.

That’s always the case for just about any tech product sold in India that’s not locally manufactured. iPhones and Google Pixels have a similar markup, and so will the PlayStation 5 once Sony decides to announce more details around its next-gen console.

We know that the Xbox Series X has next-gen hardware and will run 4K titles at 60fps, and the Xbox Series S delivers some of the same features at a lower cost. The Xbox Series X has 12.5 TFLOPS of compute, with the Series S coming in at 4.5 TFLOPS. The main difference between the two is that the Series S is digital-only, but it also has a 512GB SSD and it will be able run games at up to 1440p at 60fps.

Pre-orders for the Xbox Series X and Series S will kick off on September 22 in India, with street sales starting from November 10 — the same time as the U.S. There’s no Xbox All Access for India, but local storefronts will have their own financing options for both consoles.

We’ll have more to share once the pre-orders kick off, but in the meantime, what are your thoughts on the Xbox Series X and Series S pricing in India?
