Microsoft has a 15-inch Surface Laptop 3 with Intel CPUs for businesses

Microsoft launched a 15-inch version of its new Surface Laptop 3 this week with customized AMD Ryzen CPUs, making it the first Surface to pack AMD hardware. While AMD CPUs are the only options available for the general public, it turns out Microsoft is giving business users a little more choice.

As reported by ZDNet’s Mary Jo Foley, Microsoft is offering an Intel-based version of the device for businesses. The company’s business store lists the 15-inch Surface Laptop 3 with Intel’s 10th Gen “Ice Lake” CPUs, keeping it on par with its smaller, 13.5-inch sibling.

Business users will be able to purchase the 15-inch Surface Laptop 3 with Intel CPUs through resellers. At the moment, it doesn’t appear a Surface Lptop 3 for Business will be available with AMD processors.

Aside from the difference in CPUs, the business laptop remains the same. Microsoft estimates up to 11.5 hours of battery life, and you’ll get the new all-metal design in either platinum or matte black colors. You can also equip the laptop with up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

For everyone else, the Surface Laptop 3 is available to preorder now starting at $999. The device is expected to launch on October 22.
