May 2022 security update rolling out to Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 FE 5G in the US
Last week, Samsung released the May 2022 security update to the Galaxy S20 lineup in non-US markets. Now, the update has been released to the carrier-unlocked variants of the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, Galaxy S20 Ultra, and the Galaxy S20 FE 5G in the US.
The latest software update for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra bears firmware version G98xU1UES2EVE1. The update for the Galaxy S20 series is available on all US carrier networks, including AT&T, Sprint, Tracfone, T-Mobile, and Verizon. For the Galaxy S20 FE’s carrier-unlocked model, the new software has firmware version G781U1UES7EVD4.
The new update includes the May 2022 security patch that fixes dozens of privacy and security-related vulnerabilities. It also includes general bug fixes and software stability improvements.
If you are a Galaxy S20 or Galaxy S20 FE 5G user in the US with a carrier-unlocked model, you can now download and install the latest software update by heading over to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.
