Logitech G and Herman Miller announced a partnership today to make high-performance gaming furniture. The lineup will include several pieces of furniture, with the first being a gaming chair set to come out this spring. The line of furniture will focus on ergonomics, rather than simply looking good.
The companies discussed the upcoming furniture in a joint press release, stating that chairs and furniture that focus on looks over function can distract gamers and lead to health problems. Tim Straker, Herman Miller’s chief marketing officer, said, “We’re excited to combine our ergonomic, research-driven approach with Logitech G’s excellence in technology and innovation. Together, we’ll develop high-quality solutions that provide gamers and esports athletes with the utmost support and comfort.”
Peter Kingsley, the chief marketing officer at Logitech G, said, “Logitech G is committed to creating the best gear for gamers. We make that possible through a unique collaboration process between our design and engineering teams, partners and our customers to translate needs and capabilities into products that gamers love.” He also added that “Herman Miller was the obvious choice for us to partner with given their more than 100 years of expertise, Together we will deliver amazing products with advanced ergonomics, comfort and performance that gamers deserve.”
Both companies will study feedback from esports teams, including Complexity Gaming, TSM, NaVi to design the line of furniture. The first piece to come out will be a gaming chair, which is set to come out in spring this year.
